Indigo Children and Asperger’s.

Indigo kids.

Having felt an unexplained, and unexplored, connection to children with autism since a young age, I’d like to open up my blog with an exploration into their realm. The term Indigo children is based on concepts developed in the 70’s by Nancy Ann Tappe, a teacher and counselor who studied the human auric field. Tappe concluded that 80% of the children born after 1980 had a new deep blue colored auric field, hence “indigo.” Incidentally, the color indigo represents the third eye chakra, the energy center of psychic activity. Using the colors in the aura, Tappe was able to accurately reveal a psychological profile.

The intricate inner workings of our DNA are changing…Brain-wave relationships are spontaneously moving into higher vibrational patterning as the electromagnetic fields within our DNA. Because of this, our brains are working together as cohesive units of consciousness. That means humanity is becoming more aware and moving toward becoming sentient beings – aware of everything all at once, all of the time.” – from Conversations With The Children Of Now, by Dr. Meg Blackburn Losey

The indigo child is here to remind us of who we are, where we come from, and why we are here. Indigo children remember, and have an inner knowing that far exceeds our psychic capacities.

So why have we forgotten?

We came into this lifetime with contracts to experience the dark, in order to fully understand the light. With this, we have agreed to co-exist with our Egos. This has clouded our ability to understand that our minds and not separate from our bodies, and that our memories and thoughts are not truly our own. Who we believe we are, where we believe we come from, and why we believe we are here – these are all fabricated from our egos. It is our promise to ourselves that we remember our true essence. Those moments, however rare they may be, when you feel completely free and not attached to any learned behavior or thought pattern – that is when your vibration is closest to your highest self.

Indigo children, also referred to as Starseed, are those whose souls have incarnated in human form to help raise the consciousness of Earth beings.

Indigos have above average intelligence, are emotionally sensitive, intuitive or even psychic, and generally feel different from those around them. They have an aversion to bright lights, and are highly sensitive to sounds, pain, and extreme temperatures. They know they belong here just as they are , and they expect you to know so as well. They are born knowing and feeling that they are special, and they want to be revered. Indigo children have a higher sense of self-worth and confidence. They do not work well with rigid authority and archaic systems; they believe everything should be given creative thought. Indigo children are very focused on matters of spirituality and things of metaphysical nature. They are considered system-busters, because they often have insightful and better methods than those in place for years now.

Autism is a gift.

Asperger’s Syndrome is an autism spectrum disorder, in which people with Asperger’s have difficulty in social interaction and have problems with sensory integration. They also tend to have narrowly focused obsessions or interests. In my personal interactions with children with autism, I have found them special in the most sacred sense, and intensely gifted and psychic. These children are light-workers in training, and have an unwavering ability to cut through the facade of old paradigms. I personally do not feel that recognizing Aspies as indigo children is blindly labeling to avoid working with the “disability.” (I really loathe the words “disorder” or “disability.”) I do, however, believe that we have much to learn from our indigo children and our children with Asperger’s. These children intuitively know the integrity level of others and most important of all, these children know, understand, and respect their gifts without question.

“Indigo children are “natural children in an unnatural world.”…their immune systems (physically and emotionally) aren’t able to assimilate the earthly toxins in food, water, air, toiletries, cleaning supplies, artificial lighting, and relationships. Scientists have discovered huge links between ADHD and environmental toxins.” – from The Care and Feeding of Indigo Children, by Doreen Virtue.

All of us, not exclusive to indigo children or those with autism, would benefit from a different kind of environment and world than the one we have been molding over these past decades. Instead, we should live like this:

  1. Free from all harsh chemicals in our products, our foods, our water, our soil and our air.
  2. Food is organically grown, locally grown, fresh with minimal processing and refining.
  3. Education is for all, and children have a much greater say in their educational future and curriculum.
  4. Family means whom you are with at that time; family is inclusive to a greater circle of people.
  5. Our political system is truly for the greater good of all, much more democratic, even socialist.
  6. All countries and all people work together to better the lives on the entire planet.
  7. Nature and her needs comes first; we belong to Mother Earth, not the other way round.
  8. Children are treated with respect and consulted on any decisions that would affect them
  9. All people are equal no matter what their race, color, sex, or creed.
